Speidel, Goodrich, Goggin and Lille (SGGL), formed in Charlottesville, VA in 1983 and continues to play to sell-out crowds in concert halls like the Barns at Wolf Trap, the Birchmere of D.C., Nashville's Blue Bird, Atlanta's Eddie's Attic, and New York's Wetlands. "It makes you feel good." Clever song writing, freshness, warmth, energy & wit..why not. Hundreds of college performances led SGGL to National Association of Campus Activities Music Finalist honors. SGGL also performed on the Main Stage of the 1994 Kerrville Folk Festival.
Their most recent project "On The Shoulder" is a live recording from the Wolftrap Barns and captures the way thousands have come to know and love the band, acoustic and live.
Other available CDs include the all-original "Half a World Away." Produced by Jon Carroll and recorded & mixed by Bob Dawson. The CD includes accompaniment by some of the east coast's best talent. Currently known for stellar keyboards & vocals in Mary-Chapin Carpenter's band, Carroll's history includes recent cuts of his work by Linda Ronstadt & Tom Jones, and a Grammy for vocal arrangement for Starland Vocal Band's Afternoon Delight. Also playing on the album will be J.T. Brown and Robbie Magruder (bassist & drummer for Carpenter's band), Steuart Smith (electric Guitar-Shawn Colvin Band), Eddie Hartness (percussion-Eddie from Ohio (EFO)), Keith Grimes (guitars), and background vocalists Julie Murphy (EFO) and Kim Polk.
"Just for You" a CD release of the previously all-vinyl SGG & SGL albums (Girl in Red, City Girl, Far Away, Baby Your Love Keeps me Hangin' On), plus "Headin' South: Live at the Birchmere" (I Will Go, Headin' South, Dog Song, Fulsome Pinball Blues) engineered by Grammy winner/ Birchmere sound genius Bill Wolf, are both currently available.
