Alligator is an 8-piece Charlottesville band that plays late 1960’s and early ‘70’s Grateful Dead, a tribute to the San Francisco band that’s had such a powerful influence on American music and society. Powered by dual drummers Corky Schoonover and Craig Dougald, Alligator punches out their own versions of the classic tunes that made the Grateful Dead such a powerful live act. Members of Indecision, Skip Castro, The Casuals, and other Charlottesville bands formed Alligator in the late 1990s, and the band has impressed audiences in the area since then with a live show that combines rockin’ dance music with plenty of improvised jamming. A don’t miss.
